EASTER - Bunny Love
Easter was a bit different this year. We had some new crew members to help with the Easter hunt, but were missing one of our regulars. YOU!!! We did our best and wallahhhh!!! there you were on the screen. Not the same I know, but better than not having you included at all. I was thrilled the egg and Bunny had arrived in time for you to share while we were doing the hunt . .. . Look forward to you being with US in PERSON next year! xxx
Wish I could have got the Easter Bunny to hop into the screen and pull you through to our side.
However, Romy & Kilian were marvellous egg hunters, but Arron missed the after hunt swap!!!!!
No! Not true. We did find a swarm of wasps in the light fitting . .. . will post some more pictures in next post. From missing you like crazy, but full of preparations to join you in Beijing in July. xxx

HAPPY Easter . . .did your Egg & Bunny arrive in time ?
Easter has always been about the HUNT, and the SHARING . . . OH YES!!! and the CHOCOLATE! CHOCOLATE
I think Tuttu & Poppa bought one of the entire Easter selection, each year.
I do hope you know, that despite the occasional difference of attitude or opinion over the years, You have both been blessed with Grandparents who LOVE you wholly and completely and adored sharing their LOVE in various ways . . .Buying and hiding Easter bounty was just one of them.
The Easter Hunt. Who said we were too old to have an Easter Hunt?
However, We did say we were cutting back on the quantity . . . . . . a bit! Didn't we?
Sharing the booty . . . . . one of the FUN things about Easter.
We have always known how to celebrate, CHRISTMAS, THE TOOTH FAIRY, HOLIDAYS, BIRTHDAYS and EASTER . . . . what was there not to love about EASTER?!
I loved collecting all the shredded paper, for the bunnies nests, throughout the year . . or spending hours making it. (not always my favourite options, but a necessity. What is a bunny lair without the nest?) Then the buying of the eggs and hiding of the hoard until the appropriate day.
Then the morning would arrive and we would be up at the crack of dawn to make preparations. We loved to hide the eggs. I can still remember how thrilled I was the year Cameron got into the act of hiding the bunnies, which started making the hunt that much harder.
The entire day was always a very Happy family day of expectation, looking, finding, sharing and indulging.
We look forward to sharing the NEXT EASTER with you and will make sure we hide a few for you this year in the garden at the Roo . . . . . we will all miss you . . . . we do hope you find a way to celebrate over there
HAPPY EASTER DARLING XXXOXXX
Love you more than we can ever say!!

From the Roo to Xian
While you were engrossed in History, we were admiring our new addition to the Roo. See the small wallaby ? it was so very cute, and extremely fat. . . . it was hard for us to imagine you in Xian . . . .again! When we took you to China that first time . . .you were studying Japanese and going to be a journalist !!!! How life changes. Xian . . .
There was soo much about Xian that I loved. The terracotta warriors, the Muslim markets where I bought the beautiful amber snuff bottles & bird whistles and we visited the exotic Muslim quarters . . .
I do remember a train trip that was long and very uncomfortable !!!!!!! However, I seem to remember you sleeping like a log!
Sitting at the Roo on the weekend, I was trying to imagine you over there in Xian. It did not seem that long ago that we were there with you, as you and Dad rode your bikes along the wall and we walked through the markets.
This man was so delightful and patient. Remember that hat ? Have you bought a new one yet ?
I distinctly remember you were so very excited when you saw your first real live monk.

Oh! . . . .and you experimented with being inconspicuous !! Is that 'head gear' look still working for you ????
I remember looking down from that amazing wall, at the people dotted in the squares doing exercises, the beautiful Hotel where you and Jenny got to stay in the posh room, the man playing jazz at the piano bar, the architecture, the craftsmanship, the over the top wedding dresses, the chemist shop with bottled snake and the History. . . . . .so much history.
I imagine that you will see and experience an entirely new set of 'wonders', with friends around your same age . . . I do hope the experience is a memorable one. . . . . for all the right reasons.i.e Fun, delight, enjoyable !!
(However, I am having difficulty imagining David riding a bike with his broken elbow? )
I can't wait to see what you place on your BLOG after this lovely LONG trip.
Dad & I spent 3 days at the Roo with just us. A very nice time. . Dad got in 4 loads of gravel and fixed the road, I fertalized, pruned, racked and tidied the garden. It is looking so beautiful.
Dads pants are not looking like they did when you wore them on the train . . .

Never alone
Sometimes we can have doubts . . . .
Some times we wonder what it is all for, about . . .the why.
Remember being LOVED and giving Love is no small thing.
YOU are LOVED XXX

The Monster at the end of the trip
Rusty Roo road I got up early, full of ambition and enthusiasm.
I had instructions handy and thought they were manageable. Well!!! It is now 5 hours later and I have managed to upload pictures to photobucket, but that's it . . . . .
see the wallabies . . . how many can you see ?For some reason the Internet kept logging off, so I had to start from scratch again & again. . . .
now I'm tired. . . . a bit cranky and in need of some lunch.

It is all looking very beautiful
So, I will now take a break and try again another day
So here is a old fashioned post with still shots. . . . imagine it as a GIF that was going to be of the trip to the Roo with,' the Monster at the end of the journey' . . . .which was DAD !!!! . .. . and the taming of the beasts familiar . . .which was the dog/snoopy doing it's tricks

Cleaned your old bedroom doors and windows yesterday . . .my god the light is blinding. Cleaned the outdoor furniture and pool fence and now feel a bit better. It was all very mouldy.
The Monster who kicks the dog !
Just went through Snoopy's tricks with him and would you believe he did them all, including the' round & round' and 'sneeze' without any hesitation. I think he tricks us half the time !!!!?
You must be starting to feel like a resident HK eese by now ? Do you find your way around with a map or by the signs. There certainly is enough of them.
How is it staying with the Uncle and Anna. A nice change ?
Still loving your BLOG.
Missing you like crazy, but starting to get my groove back !!!! xxxx

Work out the door and in the gallery yahhhhhhhhhhh!!!
Seems a wee bit trivial to be worrying and organizing an exhibition, what with all the people suffering from the recent floods. . . . .however, life seems to move on regardless and one does, what one must!!!
Beauty of Patterns lost
Biodiversity is a slippery subject. 61 x 61 cm (work in process - few more layers since )I was so relieved to be able to drop off, the 17 art works I have been working on, to the Logan City Art Gallery
The moisture content in the atmosphere here in Yeronga and I presume elsewhere in Brissy, is currently very lethal to art works. Also, the sheer quantity of other peoples belongings that have been stored at out house, while people get their own houses organized, means that my paintings have been occupying half the halfway for the past few weeks.
It is a wonder they are still okay with the amount of times they have been kicked, knocked over or moved.
When we move in, who must move out? 61 cm x 61 cm ( work in progress, few more layers since )I am now looking forward to seeing them hung and can't wait to see how they are curated. I always adore the way the Logan City Art Gallery presents a show. It is so professional and aesthetically clean, with desirable brochures and a great opening night.
So please pen in the 25 Th February, to join me at the Gallery for the opening night.
Yes! I will send out an email reminder closer to the actual date . . . but, I do know how busy you all get and thought I'd just send this out early.
Look forward to seeing you there. xxxx
Thank you to everyone who has rung, emailed, face-booked and personally extended their well wishes over the past weeks. We are Okay and survived mostly unscathed during the floods.
Best wishes to you and yours.

Sleeping beauties and thankgod for short legs.
Well I guess by now you will be in Singapore and enjoying the last leg of that part of your journey. You will need the 'down time' with Peter and Yanyan to recover. Please give them my love and Best wishes. I do hope they are sorting out the business. . . .and that they are not short too much money.
Had another afternoon storm today. So our walks with Snoopy have been brief.
Sab's parents came over this afternoon to pick up some clothes to wear and say hello. They look quite shell shocked, but resigned to what has happened.
We are going to Lily's for a drink this Friday night and then through to the Roo to see what has happened up there.
It feels like years since we were there with you for that nice week-end.
Dad and I loved the pics you sent of the drawings. Great items to remember your holiday with. Did you get one each ? Which one did you keep?
Sent email this morning, so not much to add. Safe travels and say Hi to Leela and family.
From missing you like crazy xxxxxx

Gidday Beautiful.
I guess you have been wondering what has been going on here in Yeronga.
Only last week, we were thinking that there was an awful lot of rain. . . . after 10 years of drought and trying to keep everything alive . . . we found ourselves wondering if the Roo dam would now survive so much water . . . . but never imagining that we would be soon experiencing the devastating floods.
However, we have been soooooooooo lucky.
We moved out Tutu and Poppas down stairs things to our house and then when we heard that the floods were expecting to be at least a meter higher than in 1974, we returned and lifted everything upstairs, as high as we could.
Kurt passed by and bought Body and Dayn back to help Poppa & Tutu move the Billiard table. We were all so appreciative of their help. That is something we have noticed throughout . . .the way everyone has been helpful.
It was hard to imagine what was to come . . . the water just rose higher and higher . . .very quietly. Sabs house went under . . . Arron is arriving in the morning and we intend to go there tomorrow, to help clean up.
I have placed some pictures on my BLOG. I have not taken many of the devastation everywhere, as people are feeling very raw and working so hard to remove all the mud, that they do not appreciate someone walking around taking pictures. . . .and I don't blame them.
Something that is hard to explain, is the smell. As I sit here the stagnant, rotten smell clings to the back of my throat. The rubbish has not been emptied in two weeks and the mud is a foot deep.
One amazing thing is the speed with which people have appeared to help and clean up. truly a miracle. Will send some more pics after tommorrow.
Hope you are still having a great time . . .LOVE your BLOG xxxxx

Memories are made . . . .
I adore the gifs you have on your blog. I am thoroughly enjoying the FUN and excitement you seem to be having!!
I keep checking to see what is new and yelling out to Dad, and or Arron to come and have a look.
Arron left this morning after spending the night with us at Cheryl and Ians. Was good to have him here. He slept in his old room in his old bed. He caught up with his mates and they had a walk through the nature reserve at redcliff. Who would ever have thought they would be nature lovers ???

We have organized to go up to caloundra to visit him, at the end of January.
I have nothing new for now . . . .so will send something for you to remember.
