Where you will live, love and BE

You will get home in time to enjoy a few weeks of romping in the pool before it gets cold . ..and even then, it won't be anywhere near as cold as what you are experiencing over there, now! I can at least promise there will be NO SNOW!

But! where will you sleep?

You will need a place to rest your head,

a place that friends may visit with some privacy,

A place that allows you some peace and quiet,

A place to do some study . . . . .

This may not look too swish yet, but it already looks a lot better than what it did . . .

Which was this, with all this(below) in it . . . plus at least 12 ute loads that are now at the Roo . . . and a few unmentionables that were broomed, vacumed and washed away with 3 lots of scrubbing and sugar soap . . . .

So look with rose coloured glasses as I think it will make a great new abode for you and I do hope you will enjoy being here in this PLACE . . .

I will post new pics of the improvements as they progress . . .

excited yet?

LOVE You and look forward to you poking your self out through the door into the lounge room . . .

Not long . . . . XXXX

Walking on the streets where YOU LIVE

Won't be long and you will be here . . . I wonder if you will join us on our walks?

Do you recognize this street?

The Poinsianas are out in full bloom, along with the red flame tree, yellow silky oak, yellow orchids and purple agapanthas . . .the Jacarandah have finished and I am unsure what will be next. . . .it is all very beautiful.

We have just had about 2 inches of rain . ..so I imagine there will be a lot more blooms soon.

I can't wait for you to walk around with us . . .and we can have a treat one morning and stop at Ospresso for a cuppa. ..........mmmmmmmmmmm You will have to do your serious strenous excersising without us!!!

Won't be long and you will be walking the little fat dynamo along his route around the neighbourhood. He met two big golden labrador dogs this morning and was rather happy to sniff and say hello . . . .who is this dog?

He is sooooooooooo thrilled to meet up with Sambo . . .he runs up to him barking and wagging his tail . . . and apon reaching him, he stops and proceeds to ignores him . . .
Every morning Aunty Ann ask's how you are . . .and I tell her what you have done on your BLOG, or what we have skpyed about . . . in small ways, you are with us every day. I then drop her at her beautiful gate . . .and proceed to our street,
Then it is home . .. up the drive way and into the house . .. the little boy is Happy and exhausted and ready for breakfast . . .

won't be long . .. and I will be able to give you a big cuddle and say . . ."morning LOVE", instead of sending my LOVE over there. . . .so enjoy the snow, the new friends, the strange meals and unfamiliar/familiar environment. . . . this is all here waiting.

SEE YOU SOON XXXXXX

Sunshine and flowers every day

Good morning Beautiful.
I do hope it is a nice day and that you look out your window to birds and a sky, that if not blue, at least promises to be blue.
I hope you can look behind you and feel a cetain warmth towards your new room mate and that you feel positive and friendly towards your new PLACE.

Every time you pass a flower remember how much you are LOVED and just how much we are looking forward to you being with us again in Brisbane.

Every time you cook something please remind your self of what a great time we had at The HUtong and Grandmahs Kitchen. Pulled noodles and smoothies.

I hope you can find it within you to enjoy your remaining time in Jinan. I feel it promises to be a very embracing and friendly place . . . . . I do hope it is. EASTER - Bunny Love

Easter was a bit different this year. We had some new crew members to help with the Easter hunt, but were missing one of our regulars. YOU!!! We did our best and wallahhhh!!! there you were on the screen. Not the same I know, but better than not having you included at all. I was thrilled the egg and Bunny had arrived in time for you to share while we were doing the hunt . .. . Look forward to you being with US in PERSON next year! xxx

Wish I could have got the Easter Bunny to hop into the screen and pull you through to our side.

However, Romy & Kilian were marvellous egg hunters, but Arron missed the after hunt swap!!!!!

We played lawn bowls on the grass. Yes!!! Grass. Nice and green, sqidggy between the toes . . . .Grass.

I'm not sure is Arron was being a pest, but I think Poppa thought it was awfully funny!!!!!

No! Not true. We did find a swarm of wasps in the light fitting . .. . will post some more pictures in next post. From missing you like crazy, but full of preparations to join you in Beijing in July. xxx

HAPPY Easter . . .did your Egg & Bunny arrive in time ?

Arron has caught the Easter Bunny and is trying to squeeze the eggs out of him !!!! Poor Bunny !!

Easter has always been about the HUNT, and the SHARING . . . OH YES!!! and the CHOCOLATE! CHOCOLATE

I think Tuttu & Poppa bought one of the entire Easter selection, each year.

I do hope you know, that despite the occasional difference of attitude or opinion over the years, You have both been blessed with Grandparents who LOVE you wholly and completely and adored sharing their LOVE in various ways . . .Buying and hiding Easter bounty was just one of them.

Did anyone get the message ? I don't think so.

The Easter Hunt. Who said we were too old to have an Easter Hunt?

However, We did say we were cutting back on the quantity . . . . . . a bit! Didn't we?

Sharing the booty . . . . . one of the FUN things about Easter.

We have always known how to celebrate, CHRISTMAS, THE TOOTH FAIRY, HOLIDAYS, BIRTHDAYS and EASTER . . . . what was there not to love about EASTER?!

I loved collecting all the shredded paper, for the bunnies nests, throughout the year . . or spending hours making it. (not always my favourite options, but a necessity. What is a bunny lair without the nest?) Then the buying of the eggs and hiding of the hoard until the appropriate day.

Then the morning would arrive and we would be up at the crack of dawn to make preparations. We loved to hide the eggs. I can still remember how thrilled I was the year Cameron got into the act of hiding the bunnies, which started making the hunt that much harder.

The entire day was always a very Happy family day of expectation, looking, finding, sharing and indulging.

We look forward to sharing the NEXT EASTER with you and will make sure we hide a few for you this year in the garden at the Roo . . . . . we will all miss you . . . . we do hope you find a way to celebrate over there

HAPPY EASTER DARLING XXXOXXX

Love you more than we can ever say!!

From the Roo to Xian

While you were engrossed in History, we were admiring our new addition to the Roo. See the small wallaby ? it was so very cute, and extremely fat. . . . it was hard for us to imagine you in Xian . . . .again! When we took you to China that first time . . .you were studying Japanese and going to be a journalist !!!! How life changes.

Xian . . .

There was soo much about Xian that I loved. The terracotta warriors, the Muslim markets where I bought the beautiful amber snuff bottles & bird whistles and we visited the exotic Muslim quarters . . .

I do remember a train trip that was long and very uncomfortable !!!!!!! However, I seem to remember you sleeping like a log!

Sitting at the Roo on the weekend, I was trying to imagine you over there in Xian. It did not seem that long ago that we were there with you, as you and Dad rode your bikes along the wall and we walked through the markets.

This man was so delightful and patient. Remember that hat ? Have you bought a new one yet ?

I distinctly remember you were so very excited when you saw your first real live monk.

Oh! . . . .and you experimented with being inconspicuous !! Is that 'head gear' look still working for you ????

I remember looking down from that amazing wall, at the people dotted in the squares doing exercises, the beautiful Hotel where you and Jenny got to stay in the posh room, the man playing jazz at the piano bar, the architecture, the craftsmanship, the over the top wedding dresses, the chemist shop with bottled snake and the History. . . . . .so much history.

I imagine that you will see and experience an entirely new set of 'wonders', with friends around your same age . . . I do hope the experience is a memorable one. . . . . for all the right reasons.i.e Fun, delight, enjoyable !!

(However, I am having difficulty imagining David riding a bike with his broken elbow? )

I can't wait to see what you place on your BLOG after this lovely LONG trip.

Dad & I spent 3 days at the Roo with just us. A very nice time. . Dad got in 4 loads of gravel and fixed the road, I fertalized, pruned, racked and tidied the garden. It is looking so beautiful.

Dads pants are not looking like they did when you wore them on the train . . .

Sometimes we can have doubts . . . .
